Steven is an expert in security, risk management, and protective services in high-risk environments, with over 20 years of experience operating at the intersection of conflict, media, and humanitarian response.

Since beginning his career in 2004, he has deployed across Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, working in some of the world’s most complex and dangerous environments.

He specialises in enabling organisations to operate effectively in active conflict zones, where security, logistics, and mission objectives must align under extreme pressure. His work focuses on risk assessment, operational planning, and on-the-ground execution to ensure teams can move, report, and deliver safely in volatile conditions.

In 2022, Steven transitioned into high-risk media operations, supporting international news organisations including CNN and The New York Times during the war in Ukraine. Operating extensively in the Donbas, he enabled frontline reporting in one of the most contested environments in modern warfare, ensuring journalist safety while maintaining access to critical stories.

He has since supported responses to major global crises, including the October 7 attacks in Israel and humanitarian operations in Gaza and the West bank.

Steven is currently the International Security Manager for Gaza and the Middle East with World Central Kitchen. He coordinates the secure movement of personnel and aid within an active combat zone, supporting large-scale food distribution operations, and is responsible for the safety and security of over 1,600 staff in Gaza.
